I was roaming around a deserted part of Asia one afternoon just minding my own business. The sun was setting slowly and the tall grass was waving slightly in the breeze. It was a beautiful sight, but like usual, I was the only one there. I sat on a large boulder to watch the day turn to night when something caught my eye. A small movement to my left. The tongues of purple gas flared around my neck and tail, warning the stranger to back off. When no sign of movement was shown, I glared through the grass like it wasn't even there with my right eye. Well, it's actually a black hole, but it works wonders. Then I saw her. A young little- what is it- oh yes, a Sosen. "I see you, come out," I said slowly. She cautiously stood up and walked a few steps towards me. When she got close, I jumped down to the ground and looked straight into her silver eyes. She looked frightened, but determined. "Can I help you?" She looked away and her ears fell down on her neck. "well?" I was getting tired waiting for an answer, so I turned and pounced off the ground, soaring to my favorite place-a small cave hidden in a jumbled mess of trees. It had a small entrance, but the inside was incredible. Every shade gem was stashed into the walls of the cave.
I had made a home there, for whenever I felt like laying down. Snap. rock tumbled down from the entrance to the cave floor. "What do you want?" I asked no one. Soon the no one turned into two shiny silver eyes peering at me. "n-n-n-nothing..." She whispered back. "Come in here and tell me what you want from me." I was being rude, but she was getting on my nerves. She walked forward and sat down on the cold dirt across from me. "I-I'm Nere, your guardian." Guardian? Who does she think she is? "Sorry kid but I'm fine by myself." I said to her while rolling my eye. I looked back at her, and to my surprise, she didn't move. She just peered back at me, her purple orb swaying behind her on her long tail. "whatever," I was done arguing, I just want to sleep in my cave. "Are you always grumpy?" She asked bluntly. "Excuse me?" I scoffed back. "Or are you just mad because your guardian is smaller than you?" That's it. "Who are you and why do you think I need a guardian?" She sighed a little and shifted her position a little before answering. "I am a Sosen. We are destined to protect one person forever. I just so happened to have to protect you. I don't know why, but I can't argue with the rules." She paused and sat down looking at her paws, "Please don't send me away, I'm scared of the world." Hah. Just great. My "guardian" is a baby. Still, her sad expression somehow got to me. "You can stay until morning. Then you leave." She looked up and smiled a pointy grin, then cuddled up and lay in a small nook in the cave walls. I sighed. Well, at least she respects personal space.
Later that night a shuffling noise awoke me. Before I could react, two heavy bodies pounced on me, shoving me onto the rocky dirt. I snarled and flared the hot gases around my neck, but the offenders just fought back harder. I was at a major disadvantage in this battle, and I felt for sure It would be a while till I saw the sun again, but all of the sudden the cave erupted in a purple glow. The light danced off of the gemstones and bounced across the walls. It was terrifyingly beautiful. Then a hard bone cracking smack was heard and loud yelps coming from my attackers. I could see nothing, only hear a deadly fight happening in the middle of a glowing orb. Then came darkness. Nothing was visible. I heard heavy breathing. Then a small glow of purple light sparked and the cave was lit. "I protected... you..." She said between gasps. Nere stood on the middle of the cave over two lifeless bodies. They sparked everyone in a while with purple bolts of light. "You.... killed them?" All she could do was nod. I was in complete awe. A small quiet creature killed two beasts for me. For ME. I walked over to her and smiled down at her. "You are definitely sticking aroun-" before I could finish, she ran and hugged me, her body still shaking from the fear of the fight. "Huh, my own little guardian."
